EXELTIS JOINS HANDS WITH THE HO CHI MINH CITY COMMUNITY PHARMACY ASSOCIATION TO SUCCESSFULLY ORGANIZE THE 3RD ANNUAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE: EXPANDED COMMUNITY PHARMACY HO CHI MINH CITY – 2025

On July 5th and 6th, 2025, the 3rd Annual Expanded Scientific Conference for Community Pharmacists took place in Vung Tau Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. This is one of the most prestigious and important events organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Community Pharmacy Association, welcoming nearly 800 pharmacists from private pharmacies, pharmacy chains, and professional pharmacy associations in Ho Chi Minh City and nearby provinces, along with over 1,000 pharmacists participating online nationwide.

The conference featured updates on the revised Law on Pharmacy, and provided practical scientific knowledge for pharmacists, including:

  • Medication counseling practices at the point of sale,
  • Local pharmacy management,
  • And notably, several in-depth presentations on common diseases frequently encountered at community pharmacies.

With a strong commitment to accompanying pharmacists in their journey of learning, updating, and applying scientific insights into real-world counseling practices, Exeltis Vietnam was honored to be the Diamond Sponsor of this year’s event.
Exeltis proudly contributed to the program with a series of meaningful and practical activities, highlighted by a special keynote session delivered by two leading experts:
PhD.Dr. Bui Chi Thuong and Pharmacist, Specialist Level I Huynh Ngoc Duong, with the topic:

"Personalized Counseling – The Key to Meeting Needs: Contraceptive and Vaginal Infection Solutions"

Exeltis Vietnam partnered with the Ho Chi Minh City Community Pharmacy Association to successfully organize the conference.

The thematic discussion session offered many fresh and relatable perspectives surrounding two topics that are of particular interest to women at pharmacies: contraception and vaginal infections.

Contraception:
Common contraceptive methods were analyzed in depth, from emergency contraceptive pills to daily oral pills, helping pharmacists clearly understand the mechanism of action, the differences between generations of oral contraceptives, the benefits of the 21+7 regimen, how to handle missed pills, and answered frequently asked concerns such as weight gain, blood clots, effects on fertility, etc.

Among them, fourth-generation daily oral contraceptive pills, in addition to providing effective contraception, also offer added benefits such as no weight gain during use (1), acne reduction (2), less discomfort during menstrual cycles (3), and reduced likelihood of missed pills thanks to the 21+7 regimen.

Vaginal infections:
Common symptoms and common causes (such as fungi, bacteria, trichomonas, etc.) were presented in an easy-to-understand manner. In addition, soft vaginal suppositories that help reduce undissolved medication and vaginal dryness during treatment were also emphasized as an effective and user-friendly solution.

Through this, the discussion highlighted the importance of personalized counseling – that is, understanding each individual's specific needs to provide the most suitable advice. This is considered the "golden key" that helps pharmacies not only sell medicine, but also build trust and long-term loyalty from customers.

Exeltis – Accompanying the development of pharmaceutical expertise
Through the in-depth workshop and its presence at this conference, Exeltis Vietnam once again affirms its position as a pioneer in providing scientific, effective, and safe solutions for contraception and vaginal infections, contributing to improving the health and quality of life of Vietnamese women, while committing to supporting community pharmacists in their journey of professional development.
