Symposium content – Professional updates
Right after the opening, the symposium entered the main presentation delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Chi Quang with the topic:
“PERSONALIZED COUNSELING: CONTRACEPTION AND ACNE TREATMENT SOLUTIONS FOR WOMEN.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Chi Quang shared the topic “Personalized counseling: Contraception and acne treatment solutions for women.”
With extensive expertise and rich practical experience, the doctor provided pharmacists with:
- An overview of the role of contraceptives in modern reproductive health care, including the mechanisms of action and effectiveness of daily and emergency contraceptive pills.
- The different generations of oral contraceptives – with particular emphasis on the outstanding advantages of the 4th generation, which helps reduce acne, minimize weight gain, and improve user experience.
- Especially, the 21+7 regimen was recommended by the doctor because:
- It helps reduce the risk of missed pills, thanks to maintaining a consistent habit.
- It lowers the risk of amenorrhea compared to some other regimens (such as 24+4), providing greater reassurance for users.
- Answers to common questions at pharmacies, such as:
- How to handle missed pills.
- Whether light or absent menstruation during use is dangerous.
- When pregnancy can occur again after stopping the pill.
- How to switch from one type of contraceptive pill to another.
- Important counseling notes and contraindications, especially for patients with risk of venous thrombosis, cardiovascular disease, or a history of endocrine disorders.
- The role of emergency contraceptive pills, distinguishing between the two common groups (72-hour and 120-hour), how to handle vomiting after intake, and their impact on fertility.
Not only providing knowledge, the presentation also offered practical counseling scenarios, helping pharmacists gain more confidence when interacting with customers and personalizing solutions for each individual.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Chi Quang answered questions from An Khang pharmacists.
Conclusion
The symposium not only delivered valuable professional knowledge but was also part of a long-term commitment to professional and communication cooperation, marking the strong partnership between An Khang Pharmacy and Exeltis. This is an important step forward in improving service quality, aiming for the common goal: a community of healthy, confident, and happy women.
